When I say I am blown away by this little shack- I MEAN IT! Shawnee Mound BBQ has some of the best tasting BBQ that I have ever had in my life! That is saying a lot coming from Lexington/Thomasville, NC where we have world renowned BBQ across many travel channels/ food blogs.
We walked in & were happily acknowledged by two awesome/spunky waitresses! We chose our table & immediately given menus as well as our drink order.
Our waitress "BBQ Oma" instantly took up with our 5yo, he loved her- as did we!
This place is popping on a Friday night! They didn't have certain menu items left tonight (but that's what happens when you're late to the party - we arrived about 7:30pm).
I got the Smokehouse Sink (it's practically an amazing tasting sloppy joe). My husband got the Smokehouse Combo platter & it was to die for!!!!
THIS IS OUR NEW SPOT! It's worth the 35 min drive from Warrensburg ! -

Our group had pulled pork and brisket sandwiches and a plate of the rib special. All of the meat dishes were great! Fries, however were terrible, dry and lukewarm at best, probably leftover from yesterday. Sides of coleslaw and potato salad were just ok. Friendly and attentive staff. Good prices.

We stopped here on our way through Clinton following a recommendation from friends. Best recommendation we have had in ages! Pork nachos, pulled pork and brisket were all excellent. Dry generous portions. Will make plans to stop here again.
